Former secretary of State Colin Powell Facebook page Hacked
The former secretary of state Facebook page hacked by a hacker who posted anti-Bush comments, and focused some negative energy Powell's way.
The Washington Post picked up and posted some of the comments before they were deleted, including: “YOU WILL BURN IN HELL,BUSH” and “KILL THE ILLUMINATI!”
The hacker seemed intent on battling Powell for his page, posting, “PUT A CURSE ON THE FINGER WHICH YOU USE TO DELETE THESE POSTS!!!”
Powell was apparently able to gain the upper hand, posting later in the day, “I'm happy to report that the hacking problem has been fixed. We have been working with fb this morning and they took immediate action to remedy the situation.”
The retired four-star general is the latest Bush administration alumnus to be hacked. Both former Bush presidents had their email compromised, including some images of George W. Bush’s artwork.
The blog Naked Security seemed to think there was a link between the two incidents since some of the postings were signed “Guccifer,” the same name as the Bush family hacker.
But even less high-profile online accounts are subject to hackers. One way to try to keep your account safe: Don’t use the same password for every site where you have an account.
Passwords, experts advise, could be a mix of random words and characters. Also, they say, stay away from anything easy to guess, like your birthday or your favorite sports team. Another suggestion: Change your passwords every 90 days or so.

Jeep Twitter account hacked after Burger Kings
The official Twitter account of Jeep, the world-renowned brand of American automobiles, has been hacked on tuesday after Burger Kings account hijacking.
Yesterday, Burger King fell victim to a similar attack. At the time, the hacker tried to trick everyone into thinking that Burger King was sold to McDonalds.
It looks like big brands are not paying much attention to their social network properties.
After taking over Jeep’s account, the hacker posted messages such as
Shortly after recovering its account, Jeep posted the following tweet:
Similar to McDonald’s, Cadillac representatives clarified that the company “is not connected to the hack of the @Jeep Twitter account.”
However, there’s more to it than that.
Gizmodo has done some detective work and has found that the individual behind both the Jeep and the Burger King hacks is likely a DJ from New England called iThug. The DJ, Tony Cunha, apparently bragged on Facebook about his “accomplishments.”
In the meantime, Tony Cunha has deleted his Facebook account, which shows that Gizmodo might be right.

The official Burger King Twitter account has gone up in flames and is now promoting Big Macs and bath salts — as well as the #LulzSec hashtag.
UPDATE: Around or before 11 a.m. Pacific Time, the @BurgerKing account was suspended by Twitter.
McDonald’s reps tweeted, “We empathize with our @BurgerKing counterparts. Rest assured, we had nothing to do with the hacking.”
The fast food chain’s Twitter icon changed to the McDonald’s signature golden arches and the username changed to McDonald’s, the account posted,
In case you were curious, @DFNCTSC is a dummy account with no picture, following no users and posting no tweets.
The hack was carried out for reasons as yet unknown and allegedly by members of Anonymous. We have no idea what they want, but #OpMadCow is apparently underway. We’ll keep you updated when we know exactly what #OpMadCow is all about and exactly what Burger King did to piss off the underbelly of the Internet.
There is no particular Burger King’s eventual reaction. The company’s website hasn’t posted any press release since last week.
